Every day I read the blog of a fellow widower. Todd began his older blog about the grief process after losing his wife to cancer. The blog I linked to was his post widowhood blog. He still talks about the times when issues from being widowed occur but for the most part, he talks about continuing on in his life despite the loss.

Todd has a new woman in his life but, more importantly to me, Todd HAS a life. He often writes about the social activities with which he’s involved. I envy Todd. I rarely have anything social to blog about. I realize this is mostly my doing. When you turn your back on what was your social support group, your social life goes into the trash.

I’ve been looking for opportunities to be more social but, let’s face it, when you’re a full time college student and mother to three busy teens, there isn’t much time for a social life. I seem to be invited or arrange girls night out about once every six months but for some reason, movies and dinner doesn’t quite cut it for me. I will be going to lunch tomorrow with some friends so that’s a bit different.

Yesterday, I went to go to an athiest <a href= "http://www.meetup.com"Meet Up Group>Meet Up Group . I enjoyed most of the company there and hey, I got out of the house for an hour and a half. I realize that most of my social life is going to be based around school activities (both mine and the kids) and it was nice to have an event that wasn’t centered around it. I’m not sure exactly how much this group will improve my social life as Atheism isn’t a hobby one can ‘do’ with other people but, there is a party planned for 20 December!

It’s a start.

I often (as in more than once a day, okay more than twice a day) visit a website for former/ex/recovering Mormons.

I thought it would be a great idea to name myself something that highlighted my no-longer-mormonness. So I made up the name MoLessTS. MoLess for MormonLess and TS stands for my nickname which you can read about here.

I was in chat a few times this past week and some of the other chatters told me that whenever they saw my name, they thought it read ‘molests’. So not the image I want to portray.

I changed my name. I am now Entendre. I think it’s a great name. Especially since I’m often guilty of making double ones.

I grew up with two brothers. One is 2 1/2 years older than I and the other is 7 1/2 years younger. One of the things I somehow either missed out on or ignored is how gross 14 year old boys can be.

Now that I have a 14 year old son, I’ve learned.

However, I was able to gross out my 14 year old son! Amazing feat I tell ya!

Kid 3 (14 year old son) had his first band concert last week. He needed black pants, black socks and black shoes. Did he own any of those items? Of course not. So, he and I went to the store and purchased them. He came home with the issued grey polo shirt that the 8th graders are supposed to wear.

After his shower (no, it wasn’t hard to get him to do that, thank the powers that be), he came into my room and asked me a question.

He looked mightly handsome. I told him if I wasn’t his mother, I’d date him.

That’s all it took. I grossed my son out.

I happened to be skype-ing with CG at the time. Apparently I can gross out a 54 year old the same way I gross out a 14 year old.

Who knew there wasn’t much difference in 40 years?

I’m da bomb!

Each time I write a new post, I get a Google alert telling me that there is a new post. I have a Google alert for my maiden name (Neasham) which is why it alerts me to my new posts.

I also have a Google alert for Medical Anthropology (now I will get two notifications of my blog posting.)

I have a third one for CG’s last name. I swear there are only like six people in the whole world with his last name (his three brothers, him, his dad and someone they don’t know who the hell he is). Not gonna mention CG’s last name so that means I can’t get a third Google alert for one blog. Darn.

Do you have any Google alerts, and do you care to share what they are?
